Ask, and you shall receive a popular saying. Jesus actually says in Matthew 21:22<\/span>, “If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”<\/span><\/em> Growing up, I had heard this many times but never really took it as truth until my mentor Twyla began teaching me about the helping hand of the spirit. She reminded me that spirit, in the form of angels, guides, saints, God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, were constantly around eagerly waiting to assist anyone and everyone. They do not interfere with our free will choice, so we have to ask. I know for me, I had often prayed for things that I did not receive, so I had a lot of doubt surrounding this “so-called” spiritual assistance. Like most people, I only prayed and asked for things that were a pretty big deal to me. I now realize I was asking for things covered in big doubt and had little faith associated with my prayers. It was like I was asking for a mountain to be moved, which was totally beyond my level of faith. Because of my little faith and doubt, I hindered spirit from answering my requests. You have to believe, without a doubt, to receive!<\/span><\/p>\n

How to Dissipate Doubt<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

This brings me to the next point Twyla taught me. Building faith is an experiential process. Your faith can not grow unless the seed is watered through personal experiences, growing deep roots so that it can withstand the winds of doubt. Deep faith is rooted little by little, starting with small requests that we can wrap our heads around. Twyla encouraged me to ask for spiritual help daily in small things such as opening a stubborn lid on a jar, finding lost keys, remembering names, getting a parking spot close to the storefront, etc… Through this practice of asking and believing without a doubt, I began to experience spirit answering my requests. Just so you know, this took practice. I had to learn how to guard my mind against the doubt in the small requests. Some days I would be successful in holding the doubt at bay so I would receive. Other days were challenging, and I often blocked spirit from helping because of my doubt. As I continued to practice, the good news is that my doubt became less of a problem, and spirit showed up time and again. With each experience, my faith grew, and the roots of faith deepened and became stronger. Many years later, I can ask and receive spirits help with small, medium, and large requests. At times, doubt still tries to creep in, but all I have to do is remind myself of the many experiences where spirit has shown up. Experiential faith always overrides doubt!<\/span><\/p>\n

Lastly, always acknowledge spirits help with gratitude. Your words and thoughts are prayers. They can either bless or hinder your life. Gratitude in all things covers your life with a prayer of blessing. Spirit is available to us through the grace of God to assist, protect, and remind us how much we are loved. Matthew 7: 7-11 “<\/span>Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

 For every one that asks shall receive; and he that seeks shall find, and to him, that knocks the door shall be opened. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son asks for bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?” <\/span><\/em> Awaken to the Spiritual realm, ask, believe, receive, and be blessed with the abounding love of your spiritual helpers!<\/span><\/p>\n
