From striving to surrender
When something is finished, there is peace and rest in the completion. When the runner crosses the finish line, she stops running and catches her breath. When the oven timer goes off, the cake comes out to cool and rest. When the baby is born, the labor contractions cease. Innately we know when something is finished, there is nothing more to do. It is easy to accept things being finished on the natural plane. The runner doesn’t want to keep running; the baker doesn’t want to burn the cake, and the mother sure as heck doesn’t want the contractions to continue. However, why is there so much resistance and doubt surrounding what Jesus finished and completed through His death and resurrection? John 19:30 says, “When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.” Most of us don’t realize what this means for us. Therefore, we keep running ourselves to exhaustion, baking ourselves until we are burnt out, contracting in pain and suffering.
When Jesus said it was finished, he meant he paid the price for sin and evil and removed their power and bondage in our lives. Through Jesus, love came, love conquered, and love healed. When you are in love, there is joy, peace, excitement, passion, and ecstasy. Love conquers fear, judgment, evil, doubt, sin, death, and enemies. Love heals disease, broken hearts, self-esteem, relationships, pain, and suffering souls. Claim it and receive it. It is spoken, so it is done, completely finished! Don’t let your carnal mind convince you otherwise. Guard your mind, proclaim the truth over your life with praise and thanksgiving. You are worthy; you are whole. Remember and awaken to who you are. You are a spark off of God’s Divine flame. You are in Him, and He is in you. Why live the life of a pauper when you were born as a king? Let Love transform your mind, speak words, and blessings over your inner and external life. Ask for what you need, “You do not have because you do not ask.” James 4:3. Receive His abundant blessings and surrender to God’s ways of delivering them to you. Return to love and faithfully rest in His perfect completion. Live in His flow!
